PACON Plumbing School specializes in “Plumbing Apprenticeship”, “Backflow Tester Certification” and “Ohio Contractors Continuing Education” training.
The States of Ohio & Indiana approve the apprenticeship-training program, the Ohio Department of Commerce approves the backflow tester certification, and the Ohio Construction Industry Licensing Board approves the contractor’s continuing education.
Richard Ventura established PACON in 1977 as the Plumbing Apprenticeship Council of Norwood as a means to provide effective and comprehensive training for the plumbing trades in Ohio.

Training terms include the following:
- First rough drainage – PVC piping & no-hub cast iron piping
- Second rough waste vent PVC & cast iron piping

- Working behind a backhoe
- Installing sewer mains, water services and gas mains
You must be 18 years old and a high school graduate to qualify.
You must have valid driver’s license and must be physically capable of performing the duties of an apprentice.
Also, you must have full time employment with a plumber or plumbing contractor.

A five-year apprenticeship emphasizes the skill set required to be a highly skilled craftsman.
An apprentice will learn to install, repair, maintain, and service piping systems, plumbing systems, and equipment user for drinking (potable) water distribution, sanitary storm water systems and waste disposal.
Additional opportunities for plumbers can include technical installations for Medical Gas, Hydronic in-floor heating, Solar Panels, Heat Pumps, Cross-Connection Control and many other systems necessary for health and safety of the general public.

There are a number of skilled positions/careers available to
students taking this program.
Positions graduates hold are pipefitters, plumbers, building and grounds maintenance, and many become contractors.
